Sun Atlas - Return to the Spirit

It is intentionally kept a mystery who Sun Atlas are—only thing listed on their Bandcamp profile is that they are based in Los Angeles, California. What is not a mystery, however, is how stupidly funky this album is. How could it not be with all those horns, banging drum grooves, and wah-wah guitar? The tracks can get really big and almost theatrical or filmic (kind of like how Ikebe Shakedown’s songs can sometimes sound like they are straight out of a 1970s martial arts/blaxploitation movie).
